Small Treasures: Some things that you might miss in Russ Pitman Park, a talk by Cletus Lee
Wednesday, December 4th at 7pm (directly after our Annual Meeting)
Cletus Lee will present a photo essay exploring and describing the small creatures often found in Russ Pitman Park and elsewhere along the Texas Gulf Coast. The talk will cover birds, bugs, reptiles, flowers and mushrooms seen up close.
Cletus Lee is a native of Virginia and received a degree in Geology from Virginia Tech. After an interesting career in the Oil & Gas industry, followed by another in Information Sciences, he retired in 2008 to pursue nature photography, a longtime passion. He is an amateur arachnologist and entomologist with a lifelong passionate interest in nature.
Winter Break Camps Coming Soon!
Looking for a fun solution to the problem of how to entertain your kids over the winter break from school? Nature Discovery Center Winter Break Camps offer a fabulous alternative to screen time and to the "What are we going to do today?" game!
Animal Mania, Furry Friends, and Discovering Art in Nature, this year's Winter Break Camp topics, will be offered on December 30th, January 2nd, and January 3rd from 9:30am - 3:30pm for kids ages 5 to 10.

City of Bellaire Bond Referendum
We are thrilled to report that on November 5, City of Bellaire residents passed a bond referendum for $500,000 to be used for improvements to the Henshaw House and Russ Pitman Park, operated by the Nature Discovery Center. Please be on the lookout for more information about these planned improvements in the months ahead. We can't wait to get started!
