“Roberto” the Bob White Quail

Roberto was raised in captivity by a very nice boy on the South side of Houston, who happens to love Quail quite a lot. Northern Bobwhite Quail are the only Quail in our part of Texas. They live in and near grassy areas, where they eat mostly seeds, small fruits, and insects.  You may notice from his picture, that Roberto has black and white marks on his face. That’s how we can tell that he’s a boy. Girls (or females) are just different shades of brown.
